Mundelein park board president to lead state association

Kevin Dolan, president of the Mundelein Park & Recreation District board, recently was elected chairman of the Illinois Association of Park Districts' board.

Dolan joined the board in 2013 and served two years as vice chairman and one year as chairman-elect. He will lead the 19-member board in advising the association in its service, research, advocacy, public awareness and educational programs. The organization's membership includes more than 360 park, recreation and conservation agencies and nearly 100 affiliated business partners.

"Kevin is a dynamic leader who has dedicated more than 20 years of selfless service to promoting parks, recreation and conservation," IAPD President and CEO Peter Murphy said in a news release. "He understands firsthand how the programs and services offered by park, recreation and conservation agencies provide incredible benefits to the citizens of Illinois."

Dolan was elected to the Mundelein park board in 1997.

"I'm honored to have been chosen for this position and am excited to showcase Mundelein Park & Recreation District to the rest of the state," he said. "Having IAPD's support in Springfield is a tremendous benefit to all park districts."
