Driver suffers life-threatening injuries in I-294 crash
A 30-year-old Orland Park woman suffered life-threatening injuries Thursday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 294 near Willow Road in Glenview.
Kimberly Huguelet was driving south on the tollway in her gray Toyota SUV around 3 p.m. when she left the roadway and crashed into the rear of a semitrailer truck, according to the Illinois State Police.
The truck was sitting on the right shoulder with its hazard lights flashing, a news release said.
Huguelet was airlifted to General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the release. Plainfield resident Dariusz Prochniak, the 41-year-old driver of the truck, wasn't injured, authorities said.
The crash is being investigated by the state police.
