Mother Truckin' Beer Fest rolls back to Sears Centre
The Mother Truckin' Beer Fest will return Saturday, Dec. 1, to Sears Centre Arena, 5333 Prairie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates, with more than 50 breweries on hand serving more than 100 craft beers, ciders and limited edition seasonal pours, as well as food trucks and live music.
Festivities run from 1:15 to 5:15 p.m. Ticket availability is limited — VIP tickets offering early admission are sold out; at press time, general admission tickets for $45 were still available; designated driver admission for $20 is available at the door. With each ticket, you will receive a commemorative tasting glass, 25 tasting tickets, and full access to the festivities, featuring a live performance from 7th heaven, craft beer, the cascading Beering-ham Fountain, Santa's Little Hoppers Workshop and specialty food trucks.
The beer
Mother Truckin' Beer Fest offers craft beer from 50-plus breweries serving more than 100 craft beers, ciders and limited edition seasonal pours. Some of the most notable craft breweries in the business, including Revolution, Lagunitas and Half Acre, will serve their best seasonal pours alongside local favorites like Emmett's Brewing Co. and Two Brothers.
Tap Chef Lounge
The Daily Herald is partnering with organizers to put on a free beer cooking demonstration in the Tap Chef Lounge. Come watch as a professional chef shows you how to prepare meals with one common ingredient — beer. Samples will be handed out, but quantities are limited.
Live concerts, more space
Local favorite 7th heaven, which has opened for Bon Jovi and Cheap Trick and plays hits from the 1980s to today, will perform at 2 p.m. By popular demand, organizers have added more space — 10,000 square feet, to be exact — in an outdoor tent that will include more breweries, food trucks and a second band, The Messengers.
Designated Drivers
Designated drivers will enjoy free access to the Braveheart Designated Drivers Lounge featuring complimentary nonalcoholic beverages and the movie “Braveheart,” screening on a continuous loop for the duration of the event. Designated Driver tickets are only available at the door on the day of the event, and will be available even if the event is sold out.
Beering-ham Fountain
Filled with hundreds of gallons of cascading golden beer (expired beer, of course) this fountain is not for drinking, just wishes.
Santa's Little Hoppers Workshop
Still looking for the perfect holiday card? Create your very own Mother Truckin' Beer Fest themed holiday card. Complete with an on-site photographer, backdrop, professional face painter and a printing studio, it is sure to make for a card worth bragging about.
Pets and children are not allowed at the festival and parking is $10 per vehicle. You must be 21 and older to attend.
