Mount Prospect seeking Shining Star nominees

Mount Prospect's Special Events Commission is seeking nominations for its annual Shining Star Awards, recognizing residents and others who perform often unnoticed acts that have a positive impact on the community.

Award categories include Beautify Mount Prospect, Community Partner, Champion for Youth, Best Neighbor, Home Town, Living Legend and more. If the person you wish to nominate does not quite fit into the established categories, the commission invites you to create a new category.

The nomination form as well as a detailed list of categories and previous winners are available at www.mountprospect.org. Forms also are available at village hall, 50 S. Emerson St.

Nominations must be submitted in writing or online, and received no later than midnight, Nov. 26. Winners are selected in early December and will be announced shortly thereafter.

The awards will be presented at the Shining Star Awards 26th annual Shining Stars Gala, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at The Cotillion Banquets in Palatine.
