Police: Natural causes suspected in Elburn couple's deaths

Preliminary autopsy results indicate an Elburn couple died of natural causes, according to Elburn police.

A news release from Chief Nicholas Sikora said the two suffered "cardiac incidents."

Herman and Elaine Beyer were found Saturday in their home after someone called authorities and asked them to check on the couple's well-being. Police saw someone lying on a floor and broke in.

Kane County Coroner Rob Russell said it appears Elaine Beyer, 74, died before Herman, 78. Both had histories of heart and liver disease, he said.

The results of toxicology tests are still pending.
