Buffalo Grove Bills Youth Football to receive donation at Woodman's

Woodman's Food Market will hold a special check presentation for a local youth organization at its Buffalo Grove store Wednesday, Sept. 26, featuring a member of the Buffalo Bills' Super Bowl teams.

Set for 4:30 p.m. in the mammoth store at 1550 Deerfield Parkway, near Milwaukee Avenue, Woodman's and Kimberly-Clark will make what's being called a generous financial contribution to Buffalo Grove Bills Youth Football.

Mark Kelso, who played safety for the NFL's Bills and appeared in the team's four consecutive losing Super Bowl appearances in the 1990s, is scheduled to make the check presentation to the Buffalo Grove team with the same name

Kelso, a radio analyst for Bills games, will be involved at the youth organization's team clinic Tuesday, Sept. 25, before his Woodman's appearance the next day. He also is vice president of client development for North Carolina-based BAM, a company that helps connect brands, retailers and shoppers.

Founded in 1972, the Buffalo Grove Bills are a nonprofit organization with a primary focus of providing a fun and competitive environment for children interested in football or cheerleading.

Woodman's President Clint Woodman said the company is excited to be opening in Buffalo Grove and wants to be an integral part of communities it serves.

"We're happy to be supporting the Buffalo Grove Bills with this great contribution," he said.

Woodman's plans a grand opening celebration for Oct. 6.
