Greek, Polish restaurants coming to Schaumburg

Schaumburg officials have approved a Greek restaurant for the western end of the Woodfield area and a Polish restaurant to the south, with at least one expected to open by late summer.

Little Greek Fresh Grill will occupy a 1,500-square-foot space at 130 E. Golf Road, next to H&R Block in the Woodfield Corners Shopping Center. Its owners are aiming for a late August or early September opening, a representative said.

Polish eatery Angel's Kitchen will open in a 1,900-square-foot space at 624 S. Roselle Road, just north of Frato's Pizza & Catering in the Weatherway Plaza Shopping Center. The prospective owner could not be immediately reached for comment on an anticipated opening date.

Both strip mall spaces have begun renovations for their new tenants.

Little Greek Fresh Grill is planned to be a full-service Greek restaurant with a menu featuring starters, salads, pitas and wraps, light meals, dinners, sides and desserts. As many as 17 employees are expected to work there.

The restaurant is planned to be open from morning to night six days a week but will close in the midafternoon on Sundays.

Angel's Kitchen will serve traditional Polish cuisine like pierogi and cabbage as well as alcoholic beverages such as beer and wine. A staff of four employees is expected. The business will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays, and closed on Mondays.
