Last Kiss survivor's note: 'Pretending to be OK'

Posted4/21/2018 5:30 AM

That feeling of "pretending to be OK" is so much a part of grieving.

It used to bother me when friends, and sometimes family members, would relate to me as if I was beyond my grief -- because Maggie died months ago.

At first it would anger me. Then, I began to realize that they just didn't understand. They didn't know that they were expecting the impossible because they hadn't been there.
