6th Congressional District candidates to meet at Harper College forum

Candidates in the Democratic primary in the 6th Congressional District seat will take part in a forum Saturday, at Harper College in Palatine.

Hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area in conjunction with the League of Women Voters of the Arlington Heights-Mount Prospect-Buffalo Grove Areas, the forum takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at the college's Wojcik Conference Center, 1600 Algonquin Road.

Seven Democrats are vying for the party's nomination to take on Republican Congressman Peter Roskam: Kelly Mazeski of Barrington Hills; Amanda Howland of Lake Zurich; Sean Casten of Downers Grove; Jennifer Zordani of Clarendon Hills; Becky Anderson Wilkins of Naperville; Ryan Huffman of Palatine; and Carole Cheney of Naperville.

Just before the Congressional forum, at 9 a.m., the League will present a forum featuring the two Republican candidates for state House District 56, Jillian Rose Bernas of Schaumburg and Charlotte "Char" Kegarise of Schaumburg. The winner of that primary will face Democratic state Rep. Michelle Mussman in November.
