Wauconda Holiday Walk and tree lighting Saturday

The Wauconda Holiday Walk and tree lighting will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday in downtown Wauconda and at the Wauconda Park District Community Center, 600 N. Main St.

The event features a day of activities on Main Street from 2 to 6 p.m., including a parade at 5:30 p.m., followed by the tree-lighting festivities at the community center from 6 to 8 p.m.


Santa will arrive on a fire truck to light the tree and kick off a fireworks display. Activities include a gingerbread house contest, caroling, a Candyland walk, crafts, sleigh rides, face painting, live reindeer, an artisan gift fair and letters to Santa.
