Mount Prospect welcomes holiday season with annual tree-lighting

Mount Prospect welcomed the Thanksgiving holiday weekend with its annual tree-lighting ceremony and Christkindlmarket Wednesday evening at village hall. The tree was donated by Mount Prospect resident Nicki Deangelo.

The Christkindlmarket in the village hall Community Room featured an array of local vendors with creative gifts. It is sponsored by the Mount Prospect Special Events Commission.

The tree and the entire downtown are decorated in purple to cap off the village's centennial year. Hot chocolate and cookies were provided by the Mount Prospect Lions Club. The Prospect High School Madrigal Singers performed.
