Wauconda turkey trot set for Thursday
The 7th annual Wauconda Turkey Trot featuring a 4-mile run around Bangs Lake and a 2-mile fun run/walk down Main Street and around Cook Park will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday.
The 4-mile chip-timed race starts on Main Street at Mill Street. All proceeds will go to the Wauconda/Island Lake food pantry.
Turkey-shaped trophies will be awarded for first and second place male and female contestants. All participants will receive a goody bag including an event T-shirt.
The fee is $40 for the 4-mile run and $25 for the fun run/walk. Register in person at Threads Boutique, Bliss Wine & Gifts or online at http://www.waucondaturkeytrot.com/register.htm.
