Vernon Hills' holiday kickoff on Saturday after Thanksgiving
The 2017 Vernon Hills holiday tree and Menorah lighting will begin at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the municipal golf course, 291 Evergreen Drive. Hot chocolate and snacks will be available before Mayor Roger Byrne and the Vernon Hills pageant queens count down and flip the switch. Santa is expected to make a quick visit in style, courtesy of the Countryside Fire Protection District.
