One injured in pit bull attack in Woodridge

One person was injured in a pit bull attack in a Woodridge condominium complex, authorities said.

Officers responded to the River Crossing Condominium Complex on the 3400 block of 83rd Street at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday for a dog bite that resulted in injuries to a woman, authorities said in a news release Friday morning.

Officers provided first aid to the woman until the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District arrived and transported the victim to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.

An investigation revealed the dog, which belonged to a resident of the complex, exited its home through an open sliding glass door and bit the victim as she walked past.

The owner of the dog was located and the animal was secured without further incident.

The animal has been taken to the DuPage County Animal Control where it will be held, authorities said.
