Des Plaines gets a new tiki bar
Good news for those of us who like tropical drinks with umbrellas and Don Ho crooning in the background - now you can do a tiki bar hop down River Road.
A new tiki bar is open in Des Plaines at Lee and Oakton streets.
The Tiki Terrace, 1591 Lee St., is billing its great food and spectacular shows featuring Des Plaines' own Barefoot Hawaiians.

It joins the truly-worth-the-trip Hala-Kahiki, at 2834 River Road in River Grove.
New business hosts open house: Christine Pusateri, a longtime Elk Grove Village resident, was part of the contingent of massage therapists asking the village board to keep allowing new massage therapists in town.
Her new establishment is still allowed under the ban that trustees backed despite these protests.
She has recently opened Pusateri Massage Therapy Center to bring the community the therapeutic benefits of massage.
She is hosting an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday 60 Turner Ave., 2nd Floor, with complimentary chair massages and refreshments.

He will give his presentation at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Ave. The program is free.
