Park District seeks input on Sunset Meadows Park

The Crystal Lake Park District is seeking input from interested residents regarding the proposed design for Sunset Meadows Park. The park is at the northeast corner of Route 176 and Briarwood Road, in northwest Crystal Lake.

The 134-acre parcel was acquired in 1998 after voters approved a referendum for funding the purchase. The park district has leased the property to a local farmer for the last decade and is ready to consider plans for development of the park.

The park district feels that the uses of the park should remain predominantly passive and include hiking trails, bike paths, picnic shelters and fishing opportunities.

During its regular board meeting on Thursday, the park board will see a presentation by the consulting landscape architects, Hitchcock Design Group Inc., and ask for feedback from the public.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Park District Administrative Office, One E. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake.
