Dining out: New executive chef joins Hey Nonny bistro

New chef at Hey Nonny

Hey Nonny recently welcomed new Executive Chef Mauro Berruti to its bistro and live music venue in Arlington Heights. Berruti, who is originally from South America, is bringing new locally sourced dishes to the menu, including an Argentinean veggie empanada, crispy Brussels sprouts, a charcuterie board, burrata, a beet salad and roasted butternut squash soup. Diners can also taste some new entrees, such as pasta with shrimp and arrabbiata; braised short ribs with parsnip puree and almond gremolata; diver scallops with a winter squash risotto; and a veggie plate with winter squash, heirloom carrots, quinoa, kale and a baby greens salad. “We will be very clear about where we source our materials from and provide a range of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options,” Berruti said.

Hey Nonny is at 10 S. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights, (224) 202-0750, heynonny.com/.
