Norah Jones' anniversary
In 2002, singer-songwriter Norah Jones brought a bit of sultry calm to the radio with her breakout single "Come Away With Me," a dreamy ballad off her similarly titled studio debut. This year she celebrates 20 years since that jazzy blues-pop release with a tour that brings her to Chicago for a night under the stars.

Barrington Porchfest
Similar to the popular front-yard celebrations of live music in Chicago and Oak Park, Barrington Porch Fest gives it a go in the Northwest suburbs this weekend with 12 musical acts performing Saturday afternoon. Get out and hang with your neighbors while wandering Cook Street and Grove Avenue between Lake Street and Hillside Avenue to catch the various acts at this free summer concert.

Feel the earth move
Crystal Lake native Tina Naponelli brings the chart-topping tunes that are the essence of Carole King's legacy - along with some of the stories behind them - to the outdoor stage with her homage to "Tapestry," the 1971 pop release that unleashed the hits "I Feel the Earth Move," "You've Got a Friend," "So Far Away," "It's Too Late" and others on the musical soundscape.

Nerdcore raps
Fans might know Libertyville-native improv artist Chris Ward from his numerous recurring roles on Comedy Central's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and "Sealab 2021," but his breakout hit "Fett's Vette" and 22 subsequent years of hilariously risque music are what set nerdcore rapper mc chris touring stages across the country. Next week, he stops at Chicago's Beat Kitchen as part of his "mc chris: The Last Tour" with bass-music duo Crunk Witch for a 17-and-older show.
