Sound check: Norah Jones fetes an anniversary; Martina McBride plays Des Plaines Theatre
Norah Jones' anniversary
In 2002, singer-songwriter Norah Jones brought a bit of sultry calm to the radio with her breakout single "Come Away With Me," a dreamy ballad off her similarly titled studio debut. This year she celebrates 20 years since that jazzy blues-pop release with a tour that brings her to Chicago for a night under the stars.

Fans might know Libertyville-native improv artist Chris Ward from his numerous recurring roles on Comedy Central's "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" and "Sealab 2021," but his breakout hit "Fett's Vette" and 22 subsequent years of hilariously risque music are what set nerdcore rapper mc chris touring stages across the country.
