Neighbors in the News: Gurnee financial planner named to Ameriprise's Hall of Fame
• Congratulations to Gurnee Certified Financial Planner Jack M. Dunk, who has earned a spot in Ameriprise Financial's Hall of Fame - the lifetime achievement award at Ameriprise.
This award recognizes exceptional Ameriprise advisers who have achieved years of consistently high performance in meeting and exceeding the needs of their clients and delivering exceptional service. Fewer than 3% of Ameriprise advisers have earned this distinction.
Jack is one of just 29 new Hall of Fame members to achieve this milestone in 2020.

Attorney Matthew Glavin was promoted to a member in Cozen O'Connor's Chicago office.
Glavin, who joined Cozen O'Connor in 2019, is a member of the firm's Public Strategies Group. He has helped drive the expansion of Cozen O'Connor's Chicago-based government relations and public affairs practice by helping clients navigate the legislative and regulatory landscape in Illinois.
Working with Cozen O'Connor's offices in Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia, he has also led client efforts with their government affairs. His clients are in industries such as sports and entertainment, gaming, health care, energy, utilities and technology.
As part of his pro-bono practice, Glavin lobbies on behalf of the Juvenile Justice Initiative. He formerly served as a board member for a number of Illinois-based organizations, including Equality Illinois; the Illinois Chamber of Commerce; and the Institute for Regulated Policy Studies.
Prior to joining Cozen O'Connor, Glavin served as the national director of government affairs for American Water, overseeing legislative and regulatory policy in 47 states. A native of Park Ridge, he holds a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a bachelor's degree in political science from Illinois Wesleyan University.
• Mary Louise Blaney was promoted to head coach of varsity girls tennis at St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights.
Blaney has been involved with the Saint Viator tennis program since 2001, as both the parent of student athletes and a coach. Over the last three years, she has served as head coach of the junior varsity girls tennis team and assistant varsity coach of the boys tennis team.
In addition to coaching, Blaney has been a competitive tennis player in Chicago, Northern Illinois and California for more than 20 years and is a member of the United States Tennis Association. She will take over as the head coach of the girls varsity team in the 2021-2022 school year.
• Salt Creek Rural Park District Commissioner Patrick McGovern recently attended the Illinois Association of Park Districts' (IAPD) 2021 Boot Camp.
The IAPD offers this educational program to elected officials and professionals throughout the state in the field of parks, recreation and conservation. Topics include understanding board and staff roles, making a difference through legislative advocacy, fundamentals and best practices of park district finances, the Open Meetings Act, and ethical requirements for elected officials.
McGovern was elected to the park district board in April.
