Restaurants across the suburbs are thanking military service members with free meals or deals this weekend in honor of Veterans Day 2018 on Sunday. Here are a sample of the offers:

• Applebee's will be offering veterans and active-duty military a free meal on Sunday, Nov. 11. Proof of military service is required. applebees.com/en.

• Veterans and active-duty military can get a free meal from the special Veterans Day menu at Bob Evans on Sunday, Nov. 11.
