Denis Leary bringing new book to Naperville
Actor, comedian and author Denis Leary is coming to Naperville's North Central College this fall to promote his new book, "Why We Don't Suck."
Sponsored by Anderson's Bookshop, Leary will participate in a moderated conversation followed by a Q&A at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 in the school's Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Ticketholders will receive a pre-signed book.
Tickets are required and exclusively available at DenisLearyAndersons.brownpapertickets.com.
Leary is known as a standup comedian, for his voice work in the children's film franchise "Ice Age" and for his dramatic role in TV's "Rescue Me," a series he created. He has championed the "Fund for New York's Bravest," a charity to benefit the families of firefighters who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
His new book provides a searing but comic look at our divisive times, taking aim at both liberals and conservatives with his signature dose of sarcasm and common sense, according to his publisher.
Leary's first book, "Why We Suck: A Feel Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid" was a New York Times best-seller.
