Help clean energy come to Illinois

Thank you, Daily Herald, for taking the Climate Change crisis seriously with your unrelenting coverage recently. It has been wonderful. No, I am not being sarcastic but sincerely grateful.

In 2016, Illinois passed national landmark legislation call FEJA, The Future Energy Jobs Act. It spearheaded jobs, small business development and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. Now, Illinois officials are looking at the big brother to that legislation, CEJA The Clean Energy Jobs Act.

With lack of leadership toward a clean energy future in D.C., states must lead the nation forward. I sincerely appreciate Republican Rep. Grant Wehrli and the many Democrat supporters who are on board for moving this act forward during veto session this fall.

Call your local state legislators and thank them or ask them to sign on to support this important, job producing, healthy, environmental protecting legislation. This is an important act you can do today.
