Progressives seem bent on destroying nation

New York recently passed a barbaric law that allows killing of babies in the womb all nine months of pregnancy. It allows infanticide if a baby is born alive during an abortion, not requiring life sustaining treatment even if the baby is 7 or 8 pounds and fully viable to live outside the mother's womb. It also prevents charges when an unborn baby is killed during an assault on the mother, which recently happened in New York when a pregnant woman was stabbed to death, as was her unborn child, in the vestibule of her apartment building. The murderer was apprehended, was originally charged with both murders, but the charge for killing the unborn baby had to be dropped because of this new law.

Meanwhile in Washington, the Senate blocked sending a bill which would have protected unborn babies for a floor vote (where it would have passed). Among those complicit in blocking this legislation from being voted on were our two illustrious senators, Durbin and Duckworth.

This bill would have prevented the kind of infanticide passed by the state of New York. What is our country coming to? What has happened to the virtues of compassion and integrity? Why are the progressive leftists, the majority of elected Democrats it would seem, trying to destroy what was the greatest nation in the world as they push their socialist agenda and a eugenics attitude toward life?

Have the attempts to deny freedom of religion and the removal of God from public life helped or hurt our country? Will what we can believe soon be legislated with the "thought police" allowed to arrest those who don't comply? Wake up, people, it's already happening.
