U-46 board honors 14 All-State MusiciansJun 24, 2026 10:36 pm - Fourteen middle and high school students from Elgin Area School District U-46 were recognized at the June 15 board meeting for being selected as All-State Musicians through the Illinois Music Education Association's competitive audition process, representing the highest musical achievement for secondary students in Illinois.

SCORE! students to put on their original opera ‘When We Are Older’Jun 24, 2026 11:45 am - Elgin area students, age 9-13, have created an original opera titled "When We Are Older" through the SCORE! program run by Hamilton Wings nonprofit. It’s the 23rd production from the program, which provides free arts education to underserved children. The opera will be performed on June 27 at Elgin Community College Arts Center.
