Schaumburg to open 70th anniversary exhibit and host concert July 6

Schaumburg is holding a special commemorative exhibition celebrating its own 70th anniversary and America’s 250th Monday, July 6, at the Schaumburg Township District Library at 130 S. Roselle Road.

The opening will be accompanied at 6:45 p.m. by a concert in Town Square by Mellencougar, a John Mellencamp tribute band. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets for an evening of music, community and celebration.

The exhibition itself highlights Schaumburg's history and evolution over the past seven decades through historic photographs, an anniversary film, items from the 25-Year Clock Tower Time Capsule and other unique displays.

The exhibit will remain on public display at the library through September, allowing residents and visitors to explore Schaumburg's rich history throughout the summer.
