Wise Plastics earns OSHA safety recognition

ST. CHARLES - Wise Plastics Technologies Inc. announced its recognition into the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's SHARP program, the highest honor OSHA gives to small businesses.

The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program was established by OSHA in 1989 and recognizes small business employers who have used OSHA's on-site consultation program. Businesses must also have exemplary and successful safety and health programs.

The emphasis Wise Plastics put into hazard recognition and abatement has shown other successes in employee morale, a positive safety culture, and a decrease in accidents. said Andy Purvin, E.H.&S. specialist at Wise Plastics.

"We have already begun laying the groundwork to start the SHARP process for our second manufacturing site in West Chicago," he said.

St. Charles-based Wise Plastics was founded in 1974 and has evolved into a full-service custom plastic injection molder with multiple facilities, including an extensive range of in-house secondary operations.
