Zurich North America gives $25,000 to Schaumburg Township Food Pantry

Schaumburg-based Zurich North America has donated $25,000 to the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry in response to the greater need caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Township officials said Zurich also has assisted the community by donating 150 complete meal boxes a week for all of May and June, and paper products for all pantry recipients. The company also is assisting Journeys|The Road Home in its COVID-19 relief efforts for the homeless.

"Zurich's donation couldn't have come at a better time as our pantry visits have risen exponentially since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic," Schaumburg Township Supervisor Timothy Heneghan said. "Their monetary donation allows us to purchase the food we need at below wholesale costs with our partners like the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Zurich's in-kind food boxes will serve over 2,400 households through the end of June."
