Polish restaurant in Schaumburg opens under new name Opolska

Polish restaurant Opolska recently opened in the Weatherway Plaza Shopping Center on Roselle Road in Schaumburg, but it sports a different name than when village officials approved it 11 months ago.

In May 2018, the owners received permission to open a restaurant, under the proposed name of Angel's Kitchen, in the 1,900-square-foot space at 624 S. Roselle Road, just north of Frato's Culinary Kitchen.

Schaumburg Economic Development Director Matt Frank said the name is the only thing that's changed since the owners submitted their plans.

As was promised at the time, Opolska serves traditional Polish cuisine like pierogi and cabbage as well as beer and wine.

Staff said the owners were unavailable for comment Thursday due to a prior commitment.

Opolska is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. It is closed on Mondays.
