American Hotel Register gains women-owned certification

American Hotel Register Company said it gained official certification as a women-owned business from the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

WBENC certification validates that a business is at least 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. The WBENC world-class certification standard is accepted by more than 1,000 corporations representing America's most prestigious brands, and American Hotel is proud to be among them.

"Actually, we have been majority women-owned for the last few years," said Angela Korompilas, president and CEO of American Hotel. "We wanted to make it official by partnering with the WBENC knowing the importance of this certification to our customers and suppliers. As a company that has long supported and promoted women in business, it's an absolute honor to be one of the largest women-owned companies in the country."

"As a company in which five of our current eleven senior leadership team members are women and 46 percent of the total workforce are women, our commitment to diversity is all about meeting the needs and ambitions of our associates, supplier partners, and customers," Korompilas said. "With this new certification, as well as other exciting business initiatives, we are prepared to build on our progress well into the future."

With more than 150 years of service, Vernon Hills-based American Hotel offers customers 70,000 products, 1,600 national brands, an expanding portfolio of eco-friendly products and best
