Timothy O'Toole's Pub opens in Lake Villa

Timothy O'Toole's Pub recently opened in Lake Villa as the third suburban location for the growing family business.

Located at 10 W. Grand Ave. on the site of the former Blackthorn Grille, Timothy O'Toole's offers similar fare as Timothy O'Toole's in Gurnee, but markets itself more as a family pub. The location covers 5,000 square feet with outdoor dining and seats 200 customers. The Private Villa room accommodates 18-30 people for meetings and special events. The outdoor patio seats 48.

Husband-and-wife team Sara McKinnon and Humberto Martinez, Jr. are the owners of the growing restaurant business. They operate other locations in Libertyville and Chicago.

"We are thrilled to have brought our award-winning, family-owned brand to Lake Villa and help local officials who have said our arrival will contribute to their efforts to revitalize the area," McKinnon said.

Timothy O'Toole's Pub Lake Villa has 24 beers on tap, including local, craft and domestic beers.

The menu includes O'Toole's Favorite Wings, Reuben Egg Rolls, the Classic Reuben and Chicago Fire Burger, which comes with bacon, fried egg, avocado, cheddar and Irish ghost wing sauce on a pretzel bun.

Timothy O'Toole's Pub Lake Villa offers a kids menu. Children 10 and under eat free with an adult meal purchased from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The first Timothy O'Toole's Pub was founded 26 years ago in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago.
