Warrenville's EN Engineering buys Massachuesetts energy firm

Warrenville-based EN Engineering, a national energy engineering, consulting and compliance services firm, said it acquired Energy Initiatives Group LLC, an electric power consulting firm in Massachusetts.

EN Engineering provides engineering, consulting and automation services to utilities, pipeline companies, and industrial customers. The company operates in key energy and manufacturing regions across the United States.

"We are very excited about our opportunities in the power sector given the current level of activity aimed at improving and upgrading the U.S. electric grid," said EN Engineering CEO Steve Knowles. "We are thrilled about our partnership with EIG. Founders John Marczewski and Charles "Chuck" Wilson have built an excellent organization that has a strong focus on delivering the highest quality service on every project, which is also our number one goal at EN Engineering."

EIG was founded in 2000 and employs a growing team of more than 70 industry professionals. The firm provides a range of consultative services, including project management, engineering, systems analysis and planning, field services and specialty services to traditional utility companies, project developers, regulatory and government agencies, energy companies, financial organizations, and a wide range of other entities within the energy industry.

"We're excited to join the EN Engineering team, and we are confident that our collective expertise and resources will lead to increased opportunities for growth and enable us to continue to be a leader in the energy industry," Marczewski and Wilson said.

EN Engineering has been expanding and earlier this year opened a new office near Philadelphia. The firm said that in an effort to better serve existing and future clients, the office is located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

The company was founded in 2002 and a mission to address the growing need for engineering and design services to the energy industry. In 2016, the firm ranked 108th on Engineering News-Record's list of the top 500 engineering firms in the United States.
