Cancer fundraiser at Prospect High School

The Relay for Life of Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights will be held Friday, May 29, and Saturday, May 30, at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect. This is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Events include opening ceremonies at 6 p.m., the survivor/caregiver laps at 6:30 p.m., the luminaria ceremony at 10 p.m., and the fight back ceremony at 10:45 p.m. Entertainment will include Prospect High School's Mixed Company and Orchesis, the band Local Heroes and the Synergy Dance Company. A raffle will be held with prizes including Cubs tickets and gift certificates to Buca di Beppo and Morton's The Steakhouse. Catholic Charities fundraiser at Arlington Park

A day at Arlington Park can aid Catholic Charities' Emergency Services in northern Cook County. Tickets to Catholic Charities' Race to Help Saturday, June 14, are $125. You can watch the day's races from the Governor's Room while enjoying a buffet lunch, open bar, and the knowledge that your donation will help provide food, shelter, and counseling services to those who need them most. The event begins at noon in the Governor's Room (post time, 1 p.m.), buffet from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., open bar from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. For information, call Mary Beth Hartmann at (847) 376-2121.

Clearbrook fundraiser at country club

Clearbrook will partner with its PAL (Partners in Adult Learning) program to host a charity golf outing Tuesday, June 9, at Old Orchard Country Club, 700 W. Rand Road, in Mount Prospect. In addition to an 18-hole scramble, highlights include beer and cigar holes, live and silent auctions, and a helicopter ball drop for the grand prize of $1,000. The outing will begin at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start. Lunch, dinner, prizes and open bar are included with registration. The cost per player is $195. Tickets for the helicopter ball drop can be purchased for $20 each or three for $50. Winner need not be present. The PAL Program is a partnership between Clearbrook, Northwest Special Recreation Association, Community Alternatives Unlimited and families of young adults over the age of 18 with developmental disabilities and physical challenges who have graduated out of the school system.
