Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley needs volunteers

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley will host a free tutor training workshop from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 16-25, at the St. Charles Public Library.

The nonprofit helps adults communicate in English by matching them with trained volunteer tutors who provide in-person or virtual lessons once each week at a time that is convenient.

Volunteers do not need any special qualifications.

If you know English, you can teach English to someone who is eager to learn.

Most of the adults who enroll want to learn practical English that will help them navigate American culture.

The program provides material and instruction so anyone can help.

Once a volunteer is matched, Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley's program coordinator provides continuing support. She is a text or email away.

To register for the workshop, visit www.lvfv.org or call/text (630) 584-4428.
