Summer reading program kick-off

Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills and Cook Park Library in Libertyville will celebrate the start of summer reading from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The kickoff at both buildings features prizes, treats, and crafts. Registration also is open for the summer reading program to earn points and prizes for completing various activities. Kids through eighth grade can earn a free book; high schoolers get a book and entry into the grand prize Amazon gift card drawing; and, adults get a notebook to track their reading an are entered into a local business gift card drawing. Register at the libraries or cooklib.org/summer to earn points for completing various activities.
