Antioch Traveling Closet receives larg donation from local businesswoman

Village of Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner was on hand recently to show gratitude to a Chicago area businesswoman for her large donation of adult winter coats to the Antioch Traveling Closet, NFP.

The winter coats were donated by Ann Jhin, CEO of Jinny Beauty Supply, the largest multicultural and ethnic beauty supply distributor in the world. Jhin is also president of Korean American Friendship Network.

"We are grateful for the generous donation by Ms. Jinny," Gartner said. "These winter coats will provide warmth and comfort for hundreds of area residents who rely on the services of the Antioch Traveling Closet."

Jinny was introduced to the needs of the Antioch Traveling Closet by Lake County Treasurer Holly Kim.

"Miss Jinny asked me about organizations in Lake County that work directly to help people that could use her help," Kim said. "I immediately thought of Lisa Fisher and the Antioch Traveling Closet. The last time there was a giveaway, Lisa had invited me to volunteer. I was just amazed at how organized it was and how it directly cared for so many people."

Several dozen coats were given away at the event. More are planned to be distributed as needed, and again this fall.
