Deck the Halls and visit Santa with the Palatine Jaycees

The Palatine Jaycees Christmas tree sale will run from Friday, November 26 through Sunday, December 19, while supplies last.

On November 26, the tree lot will be open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. During the rest of the sale, the hours are Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Aquatic Center parking lot is located at 340 E. Palatine Rd., next to Walgreens.

Santa will make a special appearance on Saturday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for holiday photos. A special photo keepsake is also available for a modest donation to the Palatine Jaycees. Unvaccinated children should wear masks while visiting with the fully-vaccinated and masked Santa to keep everyone safe during the holiday season. Children can also send a letter to Jolly Old Saint Nick using the special mailbox at the Christmas tree lot between Friday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Dec. 12. Santa will reply to letters with legible return addresses.

"We will offer a variety of fresh-cut, long- and short-needle trees, wreaths and garland at special pricing," said Thomas Skrocki, co-chair of the project. "Shoppers can choose from our selection of Scotch Pine, Blue Spruce, Balsam Fir, Douglas Fir and Fraser Fir in a variety of sizes at competitive prices. Our festively decorated wreaths are always a customer favorite!"

"Trees sold out quickly in 2020, so come to the tree lot early as the national Christmas tree shortage continues for 2021," said co-chair Ross Smith.

"We provide a variety of extra services for our customers. Baling is available to make transporting your tree easier. We also offer drilling services for specialized tree stands," said Emily Reyes, co-chair of the project. "We are able to accept credit cards, cash, and checks."

"Our Christmas tree sale has always been one of my favorite projects," said co-chair Jen Anderson. "We get to share the festive holiday spirit with our neighbors. All of the proceeds from the sale allow the Palatine Jaycees to continue our involvement in the community."

The Jaycees will follow all recommended safety concerns, including requiring face masks, if necessary, and providing hand sanitizer.
