Minor injuries in early morning Wauconda crash

The drivers of two vehicles involved in an early morning crash in Wauconda today suffered minor injuries, but were treated at the scene and released, Lake County authorities said.

The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. in the intersection of Route 176 and Fairfield Road, when a westbound Kia was struck head-on by a Saturn turning onto the northbound lanes of Fairfield Road from eastbound Route 176, authorities said.


The driver of the Saturn was cited by Lake County sheriff's deputies.
