Hanover Township Mental Health Board awards funding at August meeting

The Hanover Township Mental Health Board approved $30,850 in funding to three agencies during its meeting on Aug. 24.

The board awarded $25,000 in Capital Funding to Easterseals of DuPage & Fox Valley of Elgin for new audiology booths. The agency's move to a new facility required the need for new equipment. The booths will be used to administer hearing tests for residents.

Ecker Center for Behavioral Health received $3,000 in Staff Development Funding for agency staff to attend crisis intervention training, co-occurring disorder training and coalition building.

Family Services of the Greater Elgin Area was also awarded $2,850 in Staff Development Funding for an Intercultural Development Inventory training. This training will assist the agency embed diversity, equity and inclusion in all of their programs.

The next meeting of the Mental Health Board will take place on Sept. 28, at 6:30PM at the Senior Center (240 S. IL Route 59, Bartlett).

Hanover Township serves over 101,000 residents in portions of the Cook County communities of Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
