Hit the greens for The Bridge's annual golf outing
You are invited to The Bridge Youth and Family Services' (The Bridge) annual golf outing fundraiser, Golf 'Fore' Youth. The 56-year nonprofit provides crisis intervention, counseling, and mentoring for at-risk youth.
The golf outing will take place Monday, Aug. 16, at Inverness Golf Club, 102 Roselle Road, Inverness. Registration opens at 10 a.m., and golf begins at noon with a shotgun start.
Golfers will enjoy 18 holes, on-course games, opportunities to win prizes, as well as a gourmet lunch and dinner. Reservations are required at bridgegolf2021.givesmart.com.
"I am enthusiastic to participate in a day of golf and hope the community will come together to support The Bridge and the work they do for kids in the area. It feels great to be part of something bigger than yourself, and it is an enjoyable day of giving back," said John D. Straley, founder and president of Infinity Wealth Advisors, Bridge committee member and supporter.
"We welcome all community and corporate members to join us. This outing is one of our annual fundraisers that ensures we can continue to provide the mental health counseling and crisis intervention services we offer to our clients," said Janet Gow, director of development and communications for The Bridge.
"It has been a tough year for hosting in-person fundraisers and we, along with other agencies like ours, depend on these events to support our essential programs. We hope we can connect with our donors in-person to thank them for their support. We simply could not do our work without them."
The Bridge will honor retiring Executive Director Gregg Stockey at a farewell reception/dinner after golf for his 29 years of leadership and service. The new executive director, Kris Salyards, will be introduced at that time.
The reception will be held at 5 p.m., with dinner following and a program that will include silent and live auction items to bid on.

The Bridge's mission is to help children, teens and their families overcome challenges and trauma to lead happier, more successful lives. The Bridge provides a range of programs and counseling services to residents of Cook County living in Palatine, Barrington, Hanover, Elk Grove, Maine, and Schaumburg townships.
The 501(c) (3) organization was founded in 1965. Services include child and family counseling, psychiatric assessments, group services in high schools, substance abuse assessments and counseling, and education regarding mental health, self-care, depression, and anxiety.
Crisis intervention services are provided for runaway, locked-out, and homeless youths, and include counseling, emergency shelter referrals, and suicide assessments with the goal of family reunification.
Prevention and volunteer services include youth advocacy mentoring, parenting programs, substance abuse education in local high schools and volunteer opportunities for the community at-large. Learn more at BridgeYouth.org.
