Packers open playoff game to season ticket holders

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Green Bay Packers season ticket holders will be able to attend a home game for the first time in nearly a year.

The team announced Thursday night that season ticket holders who opted in this summer for the chance to purchase tickets will join frontline workers and first responders for the divisional round playoff game at Lambeau Field either Jan. 16 or 17.

About 6,000 tickets will be available for purchase beginning next Tuesday, Jan. 12. Ticket holders will receive an email with more information this week, WLUK-TV reported.

Spectators will continue to follow the team's COVID-19 protocols, including remaining in socially distanced 'œpods'ť unless using the restroom or purchasing food or drinks. Tailgating in the Lambeau Field parking lots is prohibited.

The seats will be arranged in pods of two, four and six tickets throughout the stadium. Prices, set by the NFL for playoff games, will range from $127 to $177.

The Packers say the tickets will not be able to resold or transferred and that entry to the game will be via a ticket scan on the buyer's mobile device. The season ticket holders who purchased the tickets are responsible for coordinating those in their pod.

The Packers played their first four home games this season without fans because of the coronavirus pandemic. About 500 team employees and their families were then allowed to attend the next two home games, followed by the addition of frontline workers and first responders for the final two regular season games.
