Watch West Aurora High madrigal concert Dec. 17

West Aurora High School's 34th annual madrigal concert will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, on www.facebook.com/wachoir.

A school statement said the prerecorded concert will feature traditional music from past madrigal dinners, additional concert selections and traditional holiday carols.

Brian Smith, West choirs director, will direct.

The performance was recorded before the school's adaptive pause with appropriate distancing, masks and other COVID-19 precautions.

The West Aurora Choir also is partnering with Gillerson's Grubbery on Tuesday, Dec. 15 to Saturday, Dec. 19. The Aurora restaurant is offering three specially themed menu items in honor of the madrigal concert: "Sir Curd the Cheesy," a half-pound of panko-crusted Wisconsin curds served with chipotle ranch; "The Boar's Head Burger," a steak burger, pork shoulder, bacon, white cheddar, fried onion strings and "Grubby" barbecue, served with tots or fries; and "The Prince's Pretzel," one large apple cider donut-glazed pretzel served with glaze and cinnamon sugar.
