Free COVID-19 testing is coming to Grayslake and Fox Lake in December

Free COVID-19 testing is coming to Grayslake and Fox Lake in December, the Lake County Health Department said in a news release.

A mobile testing unit managed by the Illinois Department of Public Health will operate 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, and Monday, Dec. 14, at College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake, and on Sunday, Dec. 6, at Grant Community High School, south parking lot, 285 Grand Ave., Fox Lake.

Testing is open to all regardless of symptoms. A phone number and name are required to receive testing results. Photo identification and proof of insurance are helpful, but not required. Expect long wait times. Testing locations may close early due to inclement weather or if daily testing supplies are exhausted.

All sites will accommodate walk-up testing for individuals who do not have a vehicle. Only viral testing is provided at the mobile testing site.
