Dining events: Fry the Coop opens Dec. 1 in Prospect Heights

Nashville hot chicken is coming to Prospect Heights with the opening of Fry the Coop on Tuesday, Dec. 1. Ahead of the official opening, the fast-food restaurant featuring fried chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders and chicken and waffles, will host a soft opening from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25. The new location will be the first in the suburbs to have drive-up service. Orders can be placed at the drive-through or online for takeout or delivery. Once indoor dining is allowed again, the restaurant will be able to accommodate up to 76 patrons, with more seating available on the patio. Fry the Coop also will soon open a new location in Tinley Park, at 16703 S. Harlem Ave.

Ever To Go
Don't miss your chance to taste some of Ever chef Curtis Duffy's delicacies when the three-Michelin-starred chef brings some of his dishes to-go to St. Charles on Saturday, Nov. 28. Choose from one of two meal $55 options. The first option includes slow-roasted pork belly with harissa-spiced Brussels sprouts, butternut squash slaw and mascarpone grits, curried quinoa salad with golden raisins and apple, a pretzel baguette and cuatro leches cake with Thai banana jam. The vegetarian meal features a Swiss chard tart in place of the pork. Want to order more? Add-ons include maitake mushrooms, crispy duck confit, individual Swiss chard tarts, housemade ginger and cranberry kombucha and freshly baked cookies. For kids, there's a $12 meal option featuring braised beef steamed buns, macaroni and cheese, fruit and veggies. Take a load off on Black Friday with a beer and some eats outside on Two Brothers Tap House's heated patio, which will be open specially on that day from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. And do a little holiday shopping while you're there, too. Or, if you prefer shopping online for specialty beers such as the newly released Northwind Imperial Stout and Bite Life Hazy IPA, spirits (Yule Mule), coffee (Midnight Clear) or gift boxes, Friday is the time to pick up your order. If you can't make it Friday, the Tap House patio will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 5, 12 and 19.
