Homes still habitable after garden shed fire in Bartlett

No injuries were reported after a structure fire Friday morning in Bartlett.

Just before 9 a.m., Bartlett Fire District personnel arrived in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue and reported a garden shed on fire with two adjacent residences endangered. As the first fire crews battled the fire, additional units searched the residences to make sure the fire hadn't spread and no one was trapped inside.

While damage estimates weren't available, both residences were deemed habitable by fire personnel. The fire was declared under control within 10 minutes of arrival.

The fire is being investigated by the Bartlett Fire District.

Fire units from six suburban departments were initially called to assist, but they returned before they arrived at the scene.
