Mark Bozik appointed fire chief in Roselle

The Roselle Village Board approved the appointment of Mark Bozik as the Roselle Fire Chief at the May 26 meeting. Chief Bozik had been serving as acting fire chief in Roselle since the departure of former Fire Chief Dan Anderson in January 2020.

Chief Bozik has more than 30 years of progressive fire service leadership experience, having served as deputy fire chief in Roselle since April 2016, and prior to that as a firefighter, paramedic, lieutenant, bureau chief, and assistant chief with the Naperville and North Aurora fire departments.

"It is a honor and privilege to be the next Chief of the Roselle Fire Department," said Chief Bozik. "I look forward to building on the accomplishments that we have achieved over the last several years. The residents of the village of Roselle and the Roselle Fire Protection District should be proud of the first class service they receive from the department and its dedicated members"

Chief Bozik holds a fire chief officer certification designation from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, a Master's Degree in Public Safety and Homeland Security Management from Southern Illinois University, a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University, and an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Waubonsee Community College. He is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, and a founding member of the Illinois Urban Search and Rescue Team Task Force.

"Congratulations, and thank you to Chief Bozik for his service, especially in these trying times," said Mayor Andy Maglio. "We are looking forward to hosting a public swearing in ceremony when our Village Hall is open, and we can meet in person to celebrate his appointment."
