Valentines for Veterans Project Collects 4,343 lbs. of Donations

Countless volunteers shopped, donated, packed and delivered special bags of groceries for local military families. The North Suburban YMCA was happy to host Deerfield-based Gratitude Generation's Valentines for Veterans project. Many local residents signed up to purchase a bag of groceries, toiletries and Valentine goodies for the organization Midwest Veterans Closet. As the donations came in, volunteers helped pack and prepare the bags in the Y's gym, then loaded them into pickup trucks outside. As a result, over 4,343 lbs . will be distributed to show gratitude and love for many area vets.
