Wayne Township to host Recycle & Shred Event Aug. 10

Wayne Township will host its annual "Recycle and Shred Event" from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, at Wayne Township office parking lot, 27W031 North Ave., between County Farm and Kuhn in West Chicago. It will be held rain or shine.

Items to be reused/recycled include: inkjet cartridges (no toner), eyeglasses, cell phones, batteries (except household batteries) and reusable/non-reusable textiles such as purses, shoes, rags, clothing, towels, sheets, belts. They also will be accepting old American flags for proper disposal.

The shredding runs from 10 a.m. until noon or until the truck is full. There is a limit of two bankers boxes/brown paper bags. It must be personal documents only; not junk mail, books, phone books, or CDs. Documents in binders must be removed prior to recycling. The document shredding is sponsored by a grant from DuPage County.
