Margaret Allen, a senior at Wheaton North High School, received a scholarship from Perrin-Wheaton chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution at its meeting April 22.

She will use the scholarship at the University of Notre Dame, where she plans to study biology.

The Perrin-Wheaton Chapter: awards college scholarships; supports the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans; celebrates Constitution Week; presents DAR Good Citizens Awards; awards ROTC medals; supports DAR schools for students with special needs; marches in Memorial Day and Independence Day parades; helps community members learn about their family trees; promotes the DAR History Essay Contest; honors immigrants who have become American citizens; collects supplies for homeless veterans; and sponsors the William Gary Society, Children of the American Revolution.
