Town & Country Public Library District appoints new library director

Town & Country Public Library District in Elburn is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Hoffman as the new library director.

Hoffman, who has served as youth services manager since October 2017, was appointed to the role of director on March 20, 2019.

Hoffman had several leadership roles in libraries since graduating with her Master's of Library Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to joining the staff at Town & Country Public Library, she worked as a librarian at Waubonsee Community College and Access Services Supervisor at Aurora University.

As youth services manager, Hoffman sought to continually improve her department by providing exciting new materials, programs, and initiatives for patrons. With her new role as library director, she brings her same passion for excellent service and community outreach to the library's highest post.

Both the Town & Country Public Library District board of trustees and staff look forward to working with Hoffman as she charts a course for the library's future.

The library is at 320 E. North St. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
