Keep Schaumburg in good hands this April

I am on record as a frequent critic of government and politicians. I've sadly observed that our federal, state, and county governments are a mess. However, I feel fortunate to be living in Schaumburg where government has actually worked quite well for decades.

Currently, the village of Schaumburg has evolved to become, after the city of Chicago, the most significant economic center in the state. It is a magnet for business development. The tax we pay for village operations is one of the least expensive items on our tax bills - and going down. Schaumburg's use of bonds to finance improvements has been conservative; and its credit rating is top notch.

In community resident surveys, village services are consistently rated highly. And in 2018, Money Magazine named Schaumburg "The Best Place to Live in Illinois."

Several people who (along with retiring Mayor Al Larson) are responsible for the growth, development and popularity of Schaumburg are now seeking election or re-election to leadership posts. Happily, other talented people have also stepped up as well.

But Trustee Tom Dailly, who wants to become the village's next mayor, Trustees Mark Madej and George Dunham and Brian Bieschke (who has served on village commissions, boards or committees for 14 years) offer experience and track records that make them the clear choice for these roles.

All are prepared to immediately continue the work of keeping the village moving forward, able to meet the challenges of change, to make improvements, and are mindful of the average taxpayer's wish that taxes be reduced, or at least, be held to a reasonable level. This team offers exceptional talent.

Whether you do or do not share my enthusiasm for Messrs. Dailly, Madej, Bieschke and Dunham, please get out and vote on April 2. Taxpayers have muscle - use it!
